RADAR data indexed in BASE

Research data published on RADAR is now also indexed directly in BASE. BASE (Bielefeld Academic Search Engine) is one of the world's largest search engines for academic web documents. It is operated by Bielefeld University Library. BASE exclusively indexes metadata from data providers with scholarly content - for example, journals, repositories, digital collections, etc. The index currently includes metadata of over 300 million documents, which are made searchable and accessible via a single, sophisticated and multilingual search interface.

The basis for indexing at BASE is provided by our OAI provider, through which we offer the metadata of all RADAR data publications for harvesting according to the standardized Open Archives Protocol for Metadata Harvesting (OAI-PMH). Harvesting RADAR metadata through services such as BASE and B2FIND increases the dissemination, visibility, and discoverability of RADAR research data within the scientific community.

In addition, RADAR-using institutions can also harvest their own metadata as a set (e.g. RADAR contract) for inclusion on their own websites or publication lists.
