RADAR Talk at the Base4NFDI User Conference, 29.08.2025, Aachen

We are very pleased to have the opportunity to participate in the 2nd Base4NFDI User Conference (UC4B2025) with a presentation on the integration of TS4NFDI in RADAR. Our contribution is part of the session “Service Integration - Lessons Learned from our Early Adopters”, which will take place on Friday, August 29, 2025, from 9:15 to 9:45 am. In this session, three incubator projects of various NFDI basic services will report on their experiences.

The Base4NFDI User Conference is a forum for exchange and networking around NFDI basic services. It is aimed at service operators, technical developers and users from the NFDI community and offers insights into the current state of development and the integration of basic services into the federated NFDI infrastructure.

As part of our presentation, Sergio Pollo Vázquez from the development team will show how we use the TS4NFDI software suite to integrate standardized terminologies in the “Keywords” metadata field. This includes, among other things

• updating the RADAR metadata schema,
• extended description options for data records,
• improvements in the RADAR metadata editor and on the landing pages,
• new faceting options in the data publication list and
• additional administration functions for selecting and activating relevant terminologies.

He highlights the benefits for both data providers and data users.

He also provides insights into the progress of the incubator project, our collaboration with the TS4NFDI team and technical challenges during implementation. Finally, he takes a look at planned further developments and our wishes for future collaboration.

Further, he will also be part of the TS4NFDI-led, one-hour focus session "Basic Services: TS4NFDI" from 11:45 - 12:40. In addition to presentations, there will also be an exchange of experiences in barcamp format.

The UCB2025 will take place after the CoRDI 2025 in Aachen. The RADAR team will be represented there with a poster on RADAR4Chem, among other things (see RADAR News).
