The metadata of all research data to be published is released by data providers under Creative Commons (CC0) license for free use by the general public.
The metadata are automatically indexed at DataCite and are thus publicly viewable at www.datacite.org. For this purpose, they are converted from the RADAR metadata schema to the DataCite metadata schema.
The metadata are also publicly offered for harvesting in the RADAR metadata schema and in the DublinCore metadata schema according to the standardized Open Archives Protocol for Metadata Harvesting (OAI-PMH) via our OAI provider.
Harvesting RADAR metadata by other research data services (e.g. B2FIND) maximizes the dissemination of RADAR research data within the scientific community.
In addition, RADAR-using institutions can also harvest their own metadata as a set (e.g., under the RADAR agreement) for inclusion on institution-owned websites or in publication lists.
Thanks to flexible access management options, archived datasets can also be shared privately with other users or "publicly archived" on the RADAR portal.
The peer review option also serves to share datasets in advance of data publication.
Maximize dissemination, visibility, and discoverability of published data.
