b.i.t online 02/2021: Change as a constant - RADAR establishes itself as a flexible building block in research data management
Our article (in German language only) describes how we position RADAR for the future.
To be able to reliably archive and publish digital research data, to make them findable and citable, was and is the goal of RADAR1, a research data repository launched in 2017. The system, which was designed as part of a DFG project, has since been operated by FIZ Karlsruhe and is currently used as a generic cloud service by ten universities and research institutions. RADAR initially focused on the "long tail" of research data, but the requirements of the using institutions are developing dynamically and now go beyond that. This paper describes how RADAR is addressing these requirements through targeted functional enhancements and alternative operating variants, addressing new target groups, and thus positioning itself for the future.
